Maybe various :? UK Hardcore or Frenchcore, count Evilness as Various :)

Hardtrance
Soft D&B
Dubstep

(that kind of range)

how you'll check how mix was done? dj have gear =/= make set on it :]

what is wrong with software? cdjs have bpm meter, 'shadow' of wave and all thing making software 'easier' so where is a difference? because you can touch it? software don't mix instead of you..

Because i mix on Numark Axis 9's which are as good as having no bpm counter at all, a lot of the time spent on a transition is spent keeping the track in beat and doesnt leave me much time to fuck about with effects.

'k vind het wel leuk om voor de Various te jureren. Ik ben behoorlijk open-minded, maar luister qua niet-HS/HC vooral House/electro/fidget/dubstep/trance/hardtrance.

Yeah there is. you still need to keep it in beat. BPM counter isnt always right. Plus with software you can loop totally specific parts of a track and have it all planned out before hand. With Gear you need to find cue points and looping while mixing all the while making it more difficult to keep on top of the beat matching.

Mixing on Gear is a million times more difficult than mixing software. Im not denying that a mix can be a masterpeice, if anything software helps makes a better mix, however, if its a competition, we need to be highlighting the Skills of a DJ.

I'd like to see people who use VDJ stand in front of a set of CDJ's and make a mix of decent quality. Same way if i was a Vinyl DJ id like to see a CDJ make a mix on Vinyl. and i wont make any secret of the fact that i am fucking horrendous at mixing on vinyl, which as far as im concerned makes most vinyl dj's better than me.
