Hey there family!

I became a resident on Fear.FM around a many months ago and I figured it was time to be more active in the Fear.FM and Hard Dance community! This will be the space where I will update ya'll with every single thing "Harzstyle" related!

Firstly, Let me introduce myself and give you a very brief bio..

My name is Harry Francis or Harz. I'm 19 and an upcoming American EDM producer/DJ from Washington DC. Music has always been a leading part of my life. While growing up I was exposed to all kinds of music ranging from Classical to Middle Eastern but my favorite was EDM. My father insists that I fell in love with EDM because my mother went to an early EDM party which at that time was a rave while pregnant with me but I tend to throw off that story! haha! My father did however with his band produce early Disco records that were released on labels in and around Germany. To me, that's a more likely story as to how I fell in love with Dance music. Course.. anything goes! As a child I would sit in my fathers aging studio and play around with his old synthesizers and keyboards. I'd change sounds, push random buttons and all around just have a good time. ( I'll try and put up some pictures of the old gear). As I grew older I spent time exploring other worlds of EDM. It was such an incredible rush when I would stumble upon new and evolved forms of it. I spent the better porton of my early Highschool life doing this. As I continued to grow older my life took two different turns. I started to DJ local parties and school events while my mother and father filed for divorce. This really broke me inside. My escape from depression was music. This experience caused me to begin DJ'ing and to explore the different possibilities of EDM at a much higher level. It was then that music became forever engraved into my soul. In the years after I continued to build relations with the local Hard Dance organizations and through them I was able to have the pleasures of meeting JDX & Headhunterz (Massive inspirations of mine) along with Zany, MC DV8, Donkey rollers, S-Factor, & Wildstylez. I never thought I'd be able to meet my icons in the course of a few years but I did thanks to the help of all that supported Hard Dance in the states.

Here I am now in 2012. Every year incredible things have stacked upon each other. I feel ridiculously lucky to have the opportunities that I do. I've started producing (Seriously ground breaking melodies in my own belief), I've got my mixshow 'Harzstyle", I've got so many Hard Dance friends and family and ofcourse, so much support from you guys! Every single comment, tweet, view, anything that I receive from ya'll really mean the world to me.

I wish I could give ya'll a much longer and more detailed bio about who I am but that will have to come in time. I plan to write a book on the whole experience someday so maybe then I'll have a chance to share everything with you. If there is one thing I've learned the most, It's that dreams absolutely do come true. Whether you DJ infront of a crowd of 1 person or a crowd of 30,000 you're still doing something you love for that 1 person or those 30,000.

So, Thank you all for the support and I'm looking very much forward to being a part of the Fear.FM and Hard Dance family.

Harzstyle airs on Fear.FM every Saturday night at 8pm-9pm EST or (20:00-21:00). The episodes are available for download directly off the Youtube page listed below.

A little old but this is what I brought with me for EDC Las Vegas & Q-Dance.. One of the most incredible experiences in my entire life.. Never have I met so many important people and seen so many Hardstyle lovers in one place at one time.. Just beautiful to see! I even had the honor to go back stage and throw inflatables into the crowd ;)

Wouldn't bother with the book if I were you but I'm glad you've got your things going.

Good luck.

Edit: checked out this flowd stuff, thats pretty sad. They've got a bunch of subgenres of christian music but they've never heard of darkstep or breakcore...

We'll see where it all goes in the future.. Thanks a bunch man!

Haha yes!!!! Unfortunately most "Hard Dance" artists or EDM artists in general can be found through the "electronica" sub genre.. There will be a day when Hard Dance is much more widely accepted. It grows bigger every day here in the States! :D

I hope to be able to travel to Holland very very soon!

Man, only if I was that spoiled growing up. But, as people have said, the kit doesn't make the DJ.

Thank you all so much for joining me this night for Harzstyle 039!

A massive storm rang outside my window while at the beach throughout the entire show.. Hardstyle + severe storms are just mind blowing!! haha! I really wanted to shed light on undiscovered artists this episode. They deserve some serious spotlight! Next week to celebrate 40 episodes of Harzstyle one of the co-founders of Toxxic Records and personal friend, Exilio, is bringing us a bangin guest mix! Going to be a great night and I hope you all can join us for the celebration! See you then. :D

You're right, the kit never makes the DJ... Of course it wouldn't.

But hey man, I think it's really unfair for you to base a "spoiled" bias on me because of what I own. Everything I have I purchased with my own money through working my ass off at a local friend of family run party store blowing up balloons and selling costumes for a living. This music is my life and where a more then decent portion of my money goes to. Granted, I am extremely lucky to have a father who had a past of working with early dance music.

I hope one day to prove you wrong. This is all I can do.

Nonetheless if they're negative or positive comments, thank you and good luck.

All the best,
-Harz

I like this guy even though he plays horrific music and calls himself upcoming.
Jacknife -
That's the point...you're lucky. Because there's people in this world like myself that are struggling and less unfortunate, but have just as big of dreams as you. I've worked my ass off too, but i just barely got enough money to get myself a new mixer. I'm just saying you gotta look out for the people in this world that aren't as fortunate as you also!

Don't really agree. Its not like you're helping out the starving kids in africa to the best of your abilities just because you're able to eat properly.
And thats even a more urgent thing than having the chance to make some music.

What would you have him (or anyone) do? Most of us started off by earning their gear piece by piece, thats just how it goes.

The rest is developing skill, proving yourself, making connections and getting your name out there. I think thats what this guy is trying to do at the moment, nothing wrong with that.
Ofcourse there is something to be said for making your music speak for itself rather than copypasting the same story to every board/database/website you can find, but thats the internet for you. Spamming works and people use it to get their name out.

Hardstyle isn't really my thing anymore, but I have to admit, you present the show very professionally!

Good job!

Deluge; So when you say horrific is it Hardstyle in general or just the tunes in the recent episodes? I'm looking for all possible ways to improve so your comments help me out a ton! Thanks! In regards to music, I've been producing for about a year now but I haven't released anything because I'd like to release something with quality. Crazy how much I've improved since the start. Maybe you'll hear something soon :)

Jack Knife. I understand man. This is why I bring guests on my show no matter how "big" or "small". I also love to find undiscovered artists and play their music to give them any spotlight that I can offer to them. Most recently, Episode 039 of Harzstyle was dedicated to the undiscovered talents. Unfortuneatly the episode was slightly rush produced due to my time constrictions but the tracklist is absolutely full of undiscovered artists. When it comes down to it. I'm not famous.. Maybe I'll never be but I love this music, I love this community, I love producing, I love improving my work and I love helping others to see them happy.

AJ, thank you so much! I wish you could have heard episode 1.. The furthest from professional! Think it was 128kbs bit rate too! ;) Hahahaha!!

Oh no, just hardstyle in general is not my music. Too slow to get going on, but not chill enough to relax to. Don't take it personal :)

I like your attitude regardless of the music you play is what I'm trying to say. Its a good attitude to have in this business.

Go loose too, really Deluge? :p

Anyway, nice read and looks like you've really got your shit together. Giving a listen to one of your episodes right now, cause I'm openminded and all that.. unlike some others =D

What I mean is, I HAVE been trying to prove myself, I HAVE been trying to get my name out there, but I'm just ignored. Just look at all the sets I have posted on this site! and most of them only have maybe 3 or 4 downloads! I live in a place where I don't have any "connections" So I'm basically trying to work my way up with nothing. I guarantee you this is not just a copy-pasted story. This is the only place where I'm posting about this. I don't usually complain, but I'm at my wit's end, and I'm getting nowhere. What I don't get is how some people like myself, can work their ass of to make mixes and produce tracks, but never get noticed, while other people can make 1 or 2 mixes and not release a single track, but suddenly get popular and get connections.

Sorry to derail your thread Harz, but This has been bothering me for a while.

No i was talking about harz's story with the copypaste. Enter a line into google, he posted this pretty much everywhere.

Anyway i remember you doing quite well in 2011's tournament, apart from that you're just a hardstyle DJ man. We have so many hardstyle DJs here, you really have to set yourself apart. Maybe a different style, unique mixing, multigenre sets or something?

Many many hardstyle DJs post their sets here and get <5 plusses at most because its so hard to stand out.
