This volume in the compilation series comes to celebrate Psicotropicodelia Music netlabel’s 5 years. Spanning over 3-hour listening of unreleased tracks, it delivers - in a myriad of styles - a synthesis of our musical intentions.
The selection was made - through voting - by the label’s coordinators, and laid in two sections: Past to Present [2007-2011] and Present Continuous [2011-2012]. Besides the analogy with verb tenses, both of them point to the “apocalyptic” visual identity of the project, which was designed by João Ricardo (Tale Twist).
In "Past To Present [2007-2011]" tracks were chosen amongst hundreds of them, sent over the first 4 years of our existence. Some just didn’t make way through the earlier comps due to the vast material received. A good lot of them were directory’s "old" favorites, totally fit into our concept and proposal.
In “Present Continuous [2011-2012]” tracks were sent exclusively to “Volume 5", along the first half of 2012. Cultural mixtures that present Psicotropicodelia’s next direction; forged by artists, bands and producers from various regions of Brazil and cities around the world, with different influences.
We also celebrate over 1,000,000 hits at our main hosting sites [Primary Server, Jamendo and Lastfm], and the success of previous compilations [Volume 3, for example, is the most downloaded item until now, counting over 36,000 hits only at the Primary Server].
