General discussion / How to safe the LSDB archive and user connections

RubberenRobbie -
Hi LSDB users,

First of all I wan't to thank all admin(s) and mods for running this amazing website for all this years! Although I'm very sad to hear that LSDB will no longer be available after 15 lovely years I can completely understand that the cost, maintenance, and energy to run this website have taken it's toll. Second of all I want to thank all users in this amazing community for their contribution!

I start this topic for multiple reasons:
I think the amount of (tracklist) data on LSDB.nl is unique! It should be saved! (or added to https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/) ;-)
I also think that the user community is unique! I don't have the solution. But I think we should at least stay in touch somehow.
Maybe we can save LSDB.nl (or an archive option) by fundraising. Maybe we can't. (I'm personally willing to donate for both website and archive options ). But at least the spirit and knowledge of the LSDB community should be saved somehow.

Some links to keep the (hardcore) community alive for now:
https://www.gabbatracklistworld.com/
https://soundcloud.com/the-free-spirit

Please feel free to add important (info/soundcloud/mixcloud/youtube) links and/or stay in contact information in this topic (before 9th of march 2022). This is of course for lovers of all music genres!

P.S:
anyone can always contact me on deventerror@gmail.com

Greetings,
RubberenRobbie

Yes fully agree! Why make monthly server payments and motivation be a reason to pull the plug? We are all willing to help out! Why not make a happy 15th anniversary? I don't undertand :S

Liveset Database is and has been an amazing resource for so many years. Very good for digging to come across interesting track lists and obscure mixes one may otherwise pass over on Soundcloud/Mixcloud or not find on Discogs.

I am interested in an offline version, too!

What is the monthly price for the servers? I would participate with the costs.

In theory everything is straight
Same here. Willing to donate for a save option. The amount of work, data (tracklists) and sets are too much to just throw away without an archive.

There must be a way.

Same here. Maybe even make it an archive where no new sets can be posted, get rid of the forum, but keep all the info, sets and tracklists that are already here.
That way it doesn't need much maintenance, only a server and someone that can monitor it and do an incidental update.

It's looks rather bad ..mstx does not seem to care. He appears not to read messages and or respond to questions or suggestions. There has been no discussion whatsoever, only a little statement about ending it all.

Any chance on starting a new website? It would be nice if we can import the data from lsdb, but i dont know if that is possible.

Hopefully it can be saved somehow!

Like i said before, the admin(s) will have their reasons. That's fine, minus the 'dictatorship'. I want to support in one way but i'm powerless when it comes to programming/server stuff and all that. Please keep me updated if there's anything i/others can do, for a start, donations.

How the %*§### do you transfer data/pages/... ? Too late to be a noob now, grrrrr.

thefreespirit stopped long time ago putting/updating tracklists to his partial tracklisted Soundcloud sets. If he would put some effort or allow comments that would be an improvement. Maybe he had a depression or something but even blocked me from commenting ID's under some sets... (lol).

What will happen with the Mediafire account(s) that host(s) all (100's) of the awesome early hardcore/early terror/french stuff/... sets? If you can't browse it (Sandstorm knows more?) it's not reachable, unless there's another way?

... Gabbatracklistworld has an immense database + obscure stuff but doesn't have a search button for individual tracks. I've asked djfonplaz if something is possible (which costs money, programming). Without donations nothing runs or will run. LSDB flexibility and GTW's expert knowledge is/was/would always have been the most deadly combination ever qua gabber/hardcore/... .

... Hansolo (no criticism from my part) uploaded or reposted loads of sets on Mixcloud (good thing!) but almost never uploaded tracklists for the sets. That's a pity... .

@RubberenRobbie's original question for sources:

Probably everybody knows but https://www.discogs.com/group/70 is the Discogs group for hardcore/gabber/speedcore. 'Many' dj's/producers over there (Dj Freak/Low Entropy/Unibomber/Core25/Helicopterface/...) and guys like traffic_cone (uk hardcore overall expert) ... .

My own topic for 'almost complete tracklists' (had quite decent responses):
https://www.discogs.com/group/thread/809924

...We all probably know magpie303 / thefreespirit / Ezechiele 25 (Mixcloud) others on Soundcloud.
https://soundcloud.com/planet-disco which is https://www.discogs.com/user/musicshaolin has taped a lot of old tapes in many genres, some are great hardcore tapes like this one:
https://soundcloud.com/planet-disco/freeze-e-style-14_05_1994
tracklist: https://www.gabbatracklistworld.com/index.php?explore=view&trackid=4101

Discogs user Carlkutta https://www.discogs.com/user/Carlkutta maintains a tracklist site for 90's UK gabber/hardcore/trance etc. https://rigadigdig54.wixsite.com/yorkshiretracklists for events like Tommorows World / Vibealite / Uprising / ... .

Seems like Harderstate is back up for now, but LSDB? Was the issue also due to RIAA complaints? Any chance some resolution could be made?
