Our final mixtape before Christmas comes from dark bass overlord Kanji Kinetic. The Bristol-based producer has carved himself a brutal and unique sound over the past few years, welding the nastiest elements of 4x4 bassline with breakbeat hardcore, dubstep, chiptune and drumstep, whilst establishing himself as a figurehead in the emergent 'Mutant Bass' genre and creating a scene-leading record label of the same name.

His mix is one of our favourites yet, 33 minutes of turbo-charged 145bpm savagery that hotsteps from the bassline/niche sounds of Bass Boy, Royal T and Krissi B to the furious mutant bass of RRRitalin, Michael Forshaw and Curl Up, all lubricated in Kanji's own material and more dubs than a Shaw Brothers kung fu movie.

Kanji headlines the Brock Out and Mutant Bass Records Xmas Rave, this Friday @ TB2, Bristol alongside Submerse and Z-Kat. Catch him blowing away cobwebs, minds and speakers 2-3am in the main room.
