True .. but most setnames name the party and not the location, that's why I put it in the comment

Changed my comment as I can't be botherd pointing out the continual errors I find with wrong named sets, or sets that are actually somthing else on the Internet. Maybe not on here but if you point it out usually on Mixcloud, You Tube etc they usually ignore you anyway.

Here is the latest one which was originally uploaded by Trephine a few years ago. It then was added on here so I pointed it out and it was removed. But the uploaders still do not believe you. Thank you.

As I own the Trephine account on Mixcloud, I try to be very thorough in finding out if the set really is what the name says it is.
Of course I'm not 100% foolproof (as even I am only human) and not all information, especially with older sets, is available on the grand internet.

And unlike most uploaders (at least in your experience) if I'm pointed out that I made a mistake, I usually try to correct it.

We all make mistakes as you say me included and I own up to mine as well. So please except my apology if you think I picked you up the wrong way.

Personally I think Mixcloud is a crap format now that they seem to compress everything that is uploaded by turning it in to 64 bit MPEG-4. Really crap quality low bit streaming. If the uploaders on Mixcloud gave an alternative MP3 download that would make sense. It would also be a lot qucker to upload than the Mixcloud uploader.

All this craze nowadays uploading really decent sets on Mixcloud, You Tube etc from a point of the quality of the sound you get to me is pointless. All the uploaders must have the MP3 format of the file which surely must be better than the crap quality of sound the end user gets by listening to it on Mixcloud, You Tube etc.

The way it's going it will be all streaming on the Internet then if nobody has the file bar the original uploader it will be no longer available in the future for anyone once that stream is removed. Think about if it had only been streaming from the very start all these old sets and the files would now not exist, and that's the way it will eventually end up for everything.

Live for the day what does it matter if anybody else can listen to it in the future or not? A good lot of the stuff you upload I have on MP3 anybody needs it in that format and it's unavailable please just post a comment on here.

Thank you

I see your point, and in the future, I might upload my collection of sets to another site / cloud / service, where the original file can be downloaded.
For now, uploading to Mixcloud is more for personal reasons (it lets me play the sets easier while I'm on the road, in the train etc.) and as a 'service' I put the links on LSDB, so the sets can be enjoyed by more people.

I agree that the quality is not outstanding, but (again, personally) it doesn't bother me (maybe also because my hearing is slightly damaged from a lot of partying and 'speakerfreaking' in the past)

And about your comment about everything going 'streaming': I also agree, and that's why I download - and if not available on a site or Soulseek - rip the set, so I have a copy on my HD, just in case the stream goes offline.
