Starting in the early 1990s, Future FUNK has been an integral force with shaping the electronic music scene in New York and throughout the Northeast. Being a founding member of the legendary Uptown Underground crew, he has been an innovator with his music and event productions. From packing thousands under circus tents at the notorious Rave Rock in the Bronx to ripping open the doors to the base of one of the New York City bridges to selling out Roseland Ballroom and giving countless free outlaw parties with productions that would rival most promoters paid parties, Future FUNK’s event production and DJ skills guaranteed to please all attendees. His house DJ sets were a long lasting tradition with closing out all his events to a packed dance floor.

Uptown Underground attendees knew that the production of the event from the music, talent, and venue would be stellar until the lights came on and told to leave. Future FUNK was the first to introduce Turbo Sound at all his events. He always had an incredible laser light show at his events. At his memorable Brass Monkey 3D event at Roseland Ballroom, Uptown Underground was the first production crew to bring a 3-D laser light show to a dance party.

With Future FUNK’s keen sense of music, he has imported DJs from around the globe to perform at his events. Top-notch talent such as Commander Tom, Nostrum, DJ Misjah & Tim, and Paul Johnson all can credit Future FUNK for being the first US promoter to bring them over to perform in New York. Any DJ, amateur or experienced would gain a positive reputation and get extra bookings just from playing an Uptown Underground event. The recognition took any DJ to the next level. Future FUNK has shared and graced the stage with legends such as Green Velvet, Bad Boy Bill, Josh Wink, DJ Dan, T-1000, Mike Dearborn, Frankie Bones, Lenny Dee, Rob Gee, Adam Beyer, Cari Lekebusch, Misstress Barbara, The Advent, and a host of others...
