Old Studio Liveset, thought I'd put it up for all you old skool diehards.
Just my CD, it was released as a double pack with Myself and DDR on CD2, in about 1997 I think. You can download this one, I can't put DDR's up, You'll have to ask him if you want it, sorry abut that, but I have to save space.
The set was made in my studio in Brick Lane at the old Truman Brewery, which I always regretted moving out of. I had a lovely big room with huge windows looking over the side alley of the brewery and I ended up living there for a bit after we moved out of our house in Stamford Hill. Great area, I would move there again in a heartbeat. Even if just for the curry.
I did this set with a 66Mhz PC running Cubase Compact under Windows 95. I had one column of midi tracks in a 4 bar loop, my Akai S3200 sampler was loaded with vocals and drums and loops, these were all being played by the Cubase loops, The rest was hardware kit running in pattern mode synchronized to the PC by Midi clock, my Nord Modular was running drum synths and other patterns, The 909 doing the main drums, Two 303's with a bunch of different patterns, one doing basslines the other doing lead acid lines, The Sequential Pro One doing a bunch of random shit that I was just bashing into it and fading into the mix with delay and reverb FX on, and that was it.
I ran through it once recording to DAT. The first 45 mins are completely live, then something went out of synch so I stopped and reset synch and finished it off. I had to make a little edit to join it back together, I was using Soundscape at the time for HD Audio so that took care of the edit and here's the final result.
These days this kind of thing is a piece of piss to set up on Ableton Live and you can do so much more with midi controllers now too, but 15 years ago it was a different story.
