Comment by Tinfoil Hat Society himself:
This mix presents a variety of dark ambient and drone, with soundscapes from 1977 to 2013.
I love dark ambient with an organic touch to it, so I had to include a personal favorite in the NASA recordings.
These are recordings made by the Voyager space probes that are currently still travelling through the universe. What you hear are actually electromagnetic waves that originate from things like solar wind, magnetic fields surrounding planets, atmospheric noise from Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus and more.
These electromagnetic waves have been translated into sound waves, thus providing us with a strangely ambient-like sound.
Apart from that, I've included a few old tracks (1990-1995) and a few very recent ones. It's amazing how, with much less technology as today, these artists were still able to create such a pressing atmosphere.
Lastly I've also included a track of my own, which has a base of the recordings of a thunderstorm layered with a vocal recording that was slowed down by a massive factor. Of course I've added and edited quite a few things in a DAW, but I'm quite content with the organic feel it has.
A little bit of background on the whole thing, hope you enjoy! For the best experience, listen late at night.

Wouldn't recommend buying the CD as it is very expensive; it hasn't been repressed since 1992 (new 800 bucks: http://www.amazon.com/Symphonies-Planets-NASA-Voyager-Recordings/dp/B000001VWG).

You can of course PM me, I might be in the holiday spirits.

Seemed like one big long track to me, though I know fairly nothing about ambient. But I rather enjoyed this.

Yea. It's old and there aren't many copies around. I got mine in flac instead of a physical CD. For once I think the artist will be okay if I don't pay for their tune.

Found them in a lossless format which will do for now. Thanks for the offer  Also the separate discs are about half the price of the new set of 1-5. Talk about overpricing :showtek:
