Witch house (also known as drag or haunted house) is an occult-themed dark electronic music genre and visual aesthetic that emerged in the early 2010s. Thanks a lot. That description sounds quite much like a mix of dark ambient/industrial and IDM imo. I just dont get what the term "house" is referring to, because thats the last influence I'd hear here
The name is a little stange indeed, maybe 'goth trap' would be better 
Of course, the "Witch House" genre have nothing to do from near or from far with the House Music that everyone know.
The all first musical band who have started to create this style of music is Salem (http://s4lem.com) so maybe that they have attributed the "Witch House" term to describe their own style of music (or from their fans who have attributed this name to describe the musical style of Salem).
