When the opportunity came up to play another ten hour open to close in this wonderfully sweaty, underground warehouse space in Birmingham – it excited me more that I can explain.
That’s not to say I don’t get excited at the prospect of playing other shows – it’s just that what you can create with a long set on an absurd sound system in a sweaty warehouse full of bonkers underground ravers is always going to stand out as quite a different entity to a one or two hour guest slot at a club or festival…..
LED screens, pyros, bottles of champagne, riders and fancy segregated VIP areas just don’t excite me in the same way this raw stripped back experience does. Sure LEDs can enhance a clubbing experience but there is something very soul cleansing and pure about stripping away all that bollocks, turning off all the lights and just having it out in a dark dingy warehouse with a kick ass sound system and an throng of nutters....

I’m incredibly grateful to my good friends Adam and Taj for letting me do this twice now and equally humbled by the awesome posse of vagabonds, misfits, cool cats and party people that have been there for these two epic journeys.
Was so cool actually getting to meet and hang with a load of you before the party.. (that’s the smallest damn violin I ever did play).

The vibe we had in there was just silly. In fact Silly - is a great adjective to describe it. Wonky is another. A wonky, silly all night disco full of vagabonds and misfits. I like that.
I just loved standing there for ten hours controling the vibe. Watching.
Deciding when to drill, when to tease…
Moments of ambience, deep progression….
Moments of hard intensity…
Moments of euphoria and absolute love when you could literally see everyone’s eyes and heads roll backwards and groups of strangers in mass enbrace. You could cook an egg on that shit. I love it.

I love the fact that when you listen back to this recording it has the sound of the crowd in the start talking.... mates arriving at a party, hugging, catching up, bringing out birthday cakes (for celebrating and eating as opposed to idiotically throwing in each others faces)….and then as the journey builds….so too does the energy of the crowd and the noises they're making.
The whole thing was just a fucking joy to play - from start to end.

Nothing, I say again nothing, excites me more than being able to play warm up, peak time and close. Greedy fucker.
To have a residency where you could do 4 x 10 hour sets a year in a space or club you adored....that is a thought that causes an immediate disturbance in the force down below….

Anyway here it is... all 10 hours and 19 minutes of it (across two parts annoyingly).
Again, HUGE love and respect to all you crazy cats that were there, painted up in fluoro, dancing from dusk till dawn.
