To celebrate the milestone of reaching 900 likes on Facebook, I would like to take you on a journey through some of the tracks that really influenced me as an artist.
I will release three special dj-mixes for you. Each mix will feature one artist. The one thing they all have in common is that they all have a special style in their tracks, in which they combine genres, push boundaries and shape a scene. Their music is what got me into producing. Their style is what I'm always trying to accomplish.
They truly are, the source code of my music.
The second artist I would like to feature is Cubic Nomad/The Relic/Hidden Rooms (etc etc).
This legend has an amazing discography. Most of his productions focus on darker forms of hardcore, techno and acid, although he also finds time to create trance, triphop and ambient music.
He has a very unique style and is, in my eyes, one of the most important producers, label managers and party organizers of the Netherlands.
Although the market is small for slower and darker forms of hardcore here in the Netherlands, he refuses to deviate from what he has in mind for his label. And in doing so, he manages several labels for slower hardcore, acid and techno, unique in the Netherlands.
The last true label focusing on slower and darker forms of hardcore. The diversity and roughness in his releases is something I admire and always try to approach with my own productions.
