'I, personally, can only give this a 5/5. Comparing the previous mix in the Counterflux Series with this mix, considering the variety of tracks, the mixing, the flow, Free Spirit once again has raised the bar for himself and many others trying to arrange a satisfying, interesting hardcore techno mix.
Considering myself lucky to have received the CD-R (which has impeccable sound quality) for which i am very grateful to Free Spirit.
As for the mix:
The first 4 'ambient' tracks flow into one another without even noticing.
The speech sample seems actually interesting, i guess some kind of Situationist like tract, a chapter from a revolutionary book, … ?
The transition between the Teebee drum 'n bass track and Choose - Light Removal (always has been one banging track!) is f****** cool, i have replayed it several times.
The Matt Green track is the first highlight in the mix. What a great track that still is, it has high production values.
What follows are a couple of (again) darker synth based hardcore with the Collision track as the next highlight, 'till it culminates in the Senical track on Widerstand, a beast of a track, giving the listener expectations for more greatness and new directions after that when it morphs into a kind of fast industrial techno track by C Mantle.
From this point Free Spirit has given all the hints of what is bound to come for the next hour. Acidic hardcore tracks, sometimes underlined with broken beats, alternate with more 'industrial' hardcore beats.
The mixing here is more straight, less surprises but still tight. The Lasse Steen tracks, the Dusty Angel track and the DJ Stahlin track are the highlights for me in the second part of the mix, although i could listen to the first 45 minutes alone and be satisfied.'
