Just kiddin', Tekno tag is ok for me. I took a look at what is under that tag here and it does suit this set.
I assume you use the Hardtek tag for silly stuff like Vandal/Metek/etc.
Hardtechno = schranz i suppose.

You're right more or less  Hardtechno is having a reincarnation with the coming of industrial techno in my opinion, so schranz is not always the case. I think both genres are still pretty close and are often connected. For me the silly Hardtek stuff is Gabberdisco ...
And to make things more complicated ..Hansolo is often submitting German Hardtekk sets (with double k), but he's using the Tek tag ^.^

I still swear by Ishkur's 2.5 guide as you know. That more or less summed up all 90's/2000's genres because it had such a strong roots with the general genres (House/Trance/Techno/Breakbeat/Jungle/Hardcore/Downtempo) from where on all subgenres further emerged.
Here's a run through for those interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46vv5ZGjjZQ

Tekno (Spiral Tribe/Crystal Distortion/...) was called Hard Techno there. Most of the time abrasive with an industrial edge, made up on the fly, livesets, ... .

Industrial techno was the music of Hypnoskull/Asche/Converter/..., pretty interchangeable with Power Electronics (at present, Slave To Society's sets seem to have Power Electronics parts).
Too bad this Flash masterpiece has disappeared from the internets as far as i know.

Never heard of Hardtekk! My first thought is it will probably be an offspring of some other stupid genre with poppy samples :W :6: 8-) .
As long as there's a scene for it and people enjoying themselves, can't care less.

You are referring to the genre tag 'Industrial' ..or at least lsdb is using the 'Industrial' tag for this style.

Industrial Techno nowadays is something different in my opinion .. it has no tag on lsdb. You can find industrial techno sets with industrial combined, but it's not the majority

Assuming something to be stupid, without checking, trying and tasting it ..is not the best attitude. It will prevent you from discovering new things and learning stuff :)

To clarify things: i'm quite open to new/old music, people, art, ... . If you take a look/listen at my own mixes you will see/hear i put different accents and mix different genres.
Listening to Hardtekk mixes on Youtube, it DOES have these poppy samples/lyrics with a beat and snares under... . _O- In fact, some tracks are like a WHOLE POP SONG with these funny (underachieving, digital) beats/snares under, nothing wrong with that. If people enjoy it, fine to me.
I can imagine how some 'new' trendy genres will sound, that's all! Just reading the name of the genre 'Hardtekk' triggered my musical intuition. :p
Don't worry, i have thousands of 'bad' and 'good' music files. Just gotta be selective and suspicious with new styles with 'suspicious' names. :6:

(downloading Hardtekk and other trendy styles as of speaking to check if there's something interesting to be found)

One last pointless point from my part:

Some (millions?) of these new tracks are mastered/mixed in a certain way which sets them apart from the older stuff, when playing old and new in a set.
Part of it is aesthetics, part of it due to technological evolution. The sad thing, or what can make me 'angry', is the musical content is many times inferior to the old stuff from 20/30 years ago in terms of atmosphere/originality/creativity/layering of sounds/trance inducing elements/etc., but that stuff might be dated due to another mixing and mastering process.

To return to Hardtekk: it is goofy, and for (very) young people, probably more female than male. Like Nightcore. There's a reason there's a cartoon of a 10-year old girl in the visuals for this Nightcore mix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4pJC6XH_Fg

The old stuff in general is more likely for ravers/clubbers in different age categories and appeals to different brain and body sections. My 2 cents.
All in all, Hardtekk has some originality, so a new chapter in electronic music for my part, albeit a short lived one, that's easy to predict.

My apologies ..it was an easy remark for me to make. I do not doubt your openmindedness and knowledge.

Regarding the genres ..I think we should think about it in a different way. LSDB is not the Ishkur's 2.5 guide and vice versa. The current situation on lsdb is the result of various changes troughout the years made and recommended by users.
