Mike Steventon has been passionate about all forms of music since a very early age. At the age of 13 he started collecting vinyl and acquired his first set of decks when he was just 15, through hard work and perseverance, he has become a regular DJ for many of the south west’s best clubs and local festivals.
Mike's style is best described as hard-hitting, consisting of playing bootlegs and upfront tunes as well as incorporating elements of scratching. This is reflected in his taste which is a mixture of Hardstyle, Hard Trance and Techno, though he also has drawn influences from house, trance, drum and bass and hip hop to form his sound.
After bursting onto the club scene in 2004 Mike had a spell at Premonition that saw him share the bill with some of the biggest names on the scene such as:
CALLY & JUICE
BLUTONIUM BOY
SAM PUNK
TRANCE GENERATORS
and the champion scratch master DJ SY to name a few!
Mike has also played along side the likes of M-ZONE and Tidy's AMBER D at Launceston's ever growing CASTLE ROCK festival. A growing reputation and energetic stage presence led to Mike becoming a resident for Reactiv8 @ the Dance Academy Plymouth, which at the time was the South West's longest running hardcore night. Shortly after he shared the honor of being joint winner in the Eyecon DJ competition, battling with over 200 entrants from all over the South of England & Wales.
Mike has also appeared on wirelessfm.net one of Londons most respected alternative music stations.
More recently Mike's presence in the South West's club scene has increased with sets and residencies for the likes of Resonance, Premonition, Av It, Hardcore Re-born, After Dark, Hindsight and Tranzaction to name a few. Mike has also had success on the production side with his remix of the trance anthem 'Cherry Blossom' by Marcel Woods being smashed all over Europe by DJs such as Alex Kidd, Organ Donors, Louk, Wragg & Major Tom and Charlie G to name a few. This led to remixes for rising production star Louk with the hit Cohesive 'Pill Abuse' being sold out across Europe on Trance NRG recordings which amassed massive DJ support.
With continued sets across the South West's premier club nights and production collaborations with up and coming legend Kidd Kaos, Mike Steventon is definitely a name to watch for the future!!!
