listened to set, mixwerk for hardstyle was spot on like you mentionned, though i'm still not a fan of schranz/industrial in hardstyle sets

A set which both contains hardstyle and schranz/industrial (those last two do fit together) is instant -1. It just doesnt fit together. You made an overkill on variety. And 16 transitions in 30 mins is just way too much. Overkill dude, overkill.

this seems spot on. 15 tracks in 30 mins is defintely way too much. and besides some of the HS seems rather oddly placed. to have Become the Sky played after Dont Fuck with the DJ Recruit, which are arguably the hardest HS tracks in the mix, is a bit strange.

dont take it so harshly, its a comp. who cares

mixing was nog 100% at soms points, but you're managed to play 14 tracks in 34 minutes (not counting the intro), so I think that's nice :)

Cheers man!

I didnt think 15 tracks was overkill either, especially not in a competition where your supposed to showcase your skills.

Glad you liked this mate, playing a few of the tracks brought me back and reminded me while i loved hardstyle in the first place. Can barely find any tracks i enjoy in hardstyle anymore so i thought the track selection was pretty good.

Cheers for listening and for the great feedback, as always, its really appreciated! :thumbsup2:

Def!! A competition is suppose to showcase your style and skills! Not everyone can mix 15 tracks in 30 min and not everyone wanna mix 7 tracks either, so its all on you!!

To me, 2 drops per track most time kills the build of the set, its like starting over in the track, I like to keep that shyt goin!!I also dont have the patience to sit there for 5-7 min till i gotta mix again..
Its dif live cuz I respond to crowd a little more and play two drops when they get wild! But still not always..

Yup! I recognize some of those tracks from when i use to spin hs.

Couldnt agree with you more. When im making a set at home i can't be fucked waiting at all, im always trying to come up with new idea's, different techniques for a transition. Especially with techno. try and keep two tunes playing together for as long as possible.

But when your playing a club, i reckon its quite important to show them that your enjoying the music as much as they are. Respond to how they are acting.

Got a massive gig coming up next month and i actually cant wait to play it. Shame that im sharing an hour cause i swear i could play the full 5 hours myself.

First couple minutes were amazing, intro went perfect into the first track and loved how you were constantly changing tracks. The mixing was spotless and Heavy Rain with No One Can stop Us melody sounded perfect. It was one of the best hs mixes I'd heard up until Become The Sky, the midintro was mixed in well but I don't think the melody sounded right after all the harder tracks, I understand what you were trying to do but I think a harder melodic track would've fit better. You mixed out of it well though and the mix kept banging on, really enjoyed the schranz and negative a tracks and ofcourse Forgotten Moments remix is just a beast to end with. Really should've got you through!

Excellent feedback mate, huge thanks. Especially from yourself man. You'd have thought the both of us would be bored of each others mixing styles by now, it's some what of a miracle that we still enjoy each others sets as much as we do. I am still pretty dumbfounded that this set didn't win. At least it has been enjoyed and appreciated by a lot of people though..
