Guestmix competition winner & broadcast schedule
.
In the past few weeks we’ve received a lot of great hardstyle sets by many DJs around the world.
We’ve received sets from Australia, South Africa, Denmark, Germany, Canada, USA, Italy, Hungary, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Spain etc..
“I, A-lusion, want to personally thank everybody that participated in the competition.
It is extremely inspiring to see how many people follow my radioshow and support the hardstyle sound! It’s even more exciting to see how many people play my music in their sets. Thanks!”
.
The winner of the Scantraxx Radioshow Guestmix May 2011 competition is:
.
The Pressureheads from Germany
Congratulations to the winning artist.

Selecting the winner has been a pretty difficult task. Unlike an actual DJ competition in a club, you can’t see the reaction of the crowd and the way the DJ acts on that.
Therefore we judged the guestmixes on various different criteria.
.
A few of these criteria and the way they were handled in the winning guestmix, are:
- Built-up (from melodic to harder)
- Mixing (short mixes, longer mixes, some mixes in key, some creative mixes)
- Track choice (Popular tracks mixed with less popular tracks, old vs new)
.
Besides this, we looked at how we think the average crowd would react to the tracks and track order.
Maybe you participated and you don’t understand why your set didn’t win. Quite a few sets were recorded in a quality which we simply couldn’t broadcast. Some of them were recorded in mono or had phase problems and some of them were distorted or compressed too much.
.
Being aware of the sound you are producing and the technical part that comes with DJing, is of course also important.
Furthermore, a lot comes down to taste so that might be the reason why you like your own set much more. There were many sets listed as “possible winner”. We could probably broadcast a whole year with all the great sets we received.
You can listen to the winning guestmix in the radioshow of the month May.
Check the broadcast schedule below to find out when and where it will be broadcasted.
