Hy Guys  :)

Wel, I have been mixing now for a while and last time I read something about build-up in a set :?
And now I want to ask you what the build-up is in a hardstyle set and what a good build-up makes?

Greetings

If you can't build up a set... don't even try mixing :^)

For Hardstyle hmmm

Some guyz telled me that the build-up in a HS set is that you have to end with Dark & Raw HS tracks

So you have to end with harder tracks :thumbsup:

I think B-Front make a good end for a HS Set

well, you can sart with oldier and softer tunes and work your way up. You dont want to be say..Playing a rough set and then ending it with soft tracks or cheesy tracks either..HHz etc etc

Crypsis after Showtek = BAD
Showtek after a trance track or something = GOOD

Is there a SchizeQ set that can explain this problem? :W

mix what you want but;
make sure the set holds a "concept", meaning a group of tracks fitting. showtek after crypsis is indeed a bad idea, because the styles simply dont add up to each other.
with concept i dont mean all tracks should sound the same, but do fit to each other

for example:
Toneshifterz - Nightscape -> A-Wak - System Activated

This is just my judgement based on mixability, don't look on the climaxes at this point.
both tracks have a similiar drive at the begin/end

track knowledge is very important on this one, so it might be a good idea to seek further in the scene then just ran-d, noisecontrollers or technoboy.

if you get this trick... use it on all transitions, but dont make the set too static. that's the art/beauty of spinning livesets.

what i mean is, look further then the known artists, labels and hits. unknown doesnt automaticly mean it's bad. alot of those tracks can actually really boost up your livesets.

no i dont have examples coming to mind

but if i browse through your tracklists, at least 80% of it are hits, or at least by known artists.
but this is not the main problem......

if i take an example from a set from you:
11. Toneshifterz meets Nitrouz - Origins of Life
12. Brennan Heart - Van Halen is a Rockstar

to get back at the first part here.. why did you mix BH after Origins??... imo it doesnt really match up well because origins is alot harder and darker.. and the BH the exact opposite :^)

so you're saying this topic should be instantly locked right?

because everyone has his ways, so why should we discuss?
