GEARBOX UPDATE

Since Gearbox first broadcast on a local radio station in the north of Scotland in 2009, it has played through many different genres, hosted guests mixes from many different dj's and been on many different stations. Now, after an excellent year with Hardstation.FM, I have decided to take Gearbox to a station who can host the shows intentions of being one of the biggest and best renowned shows online for hard dance music.

FEAR.FM

The show will now be broadcasting every Wednesday from 19.00 - 23.00 UK Time. We have also added a few new residents to the show so that we will have to resident mixes per episode and either a mix from myself and one guest or two guests per week.

New Residents

SickMan - The Tech King from Ukraine will be at the Gearbox forefront when it comes to pounding techy madness with beautiful rolling kicks. Expect big things from this man in the future!

Pred - The Hard Trancer from Down Under. Pred brings a beautiful blend of all the best in alternative hard dance with his beautifully crafted and poetically progressive mixes.

Phil Mackintosh - 3 Deck wonder and musical Wiz kid from England will be a sure fire hit with anyone who appreciates good mixing. This young artist is a just at the healm of his production and is representative of the kiddfectious family. We are delighted to have him on board.

Digitally Infected - Every month we will be treated to a mix from my personal favourite label in hard dance. Expect mixes from the likes Busho, DJ Husband, Mark EG, Verjo and many more.

The new look residency ad show will host nothing but the best in hard dance. Each week will incorporate 2 resident mixes and 2 guest mixes.

Residents

Week 1 - David Rust or SickMan & Pred

Week 2 - Myler & Phil Mackintosh

Week 3 - Lee Mac & Digitally Infected

Week 4 - Dermot Bateman & Loony

On top of resident mixes I will also be making mixes every couple of weeks. This means we can look forward to guest mixes from some of the biggest names around whilst being guaranteed top quality mixes from out residents.

WEDNESDAY THE 7TH OF SEPTEMBER

The first show kicks off this Wednesday and the line up looks like so

20.00 - Pred
21.00 - KloneZ
22.00 - Desudo
23.00 - Andrea Montorsi

 :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb:

For those of you who recognise Gearbox from its roots in hardstyle, do not fear, as we have some great news for you hardstyle fans too.

After prepping DJ Mazzanotti with his fine work under the Gearbox America brand, I have asked him to help me in produce a hardstyle show which will also broadcast on Fear.FM under the new brand Gearbox Raw. More information will follow in the future regarding this new broadcast on Fear.FM's Harder Stream.

For now you can all make do with Gearbox on the hard stream of Fear.FM as they prepare to embark on being the biggest station for hard trance and early hardstyle online.

Thanks again to Hardstation.FM who have been fantastic to work with

Gearbox Owns The Night

WEDNESDAY THE 7TH OF SEPTEMBER

This Wednesday Gearbox starts a new chapter in its story as it broadcasts on Fear.FM for the first time. Gearbox host, Desudo, offers you a taste of the best hard trance music out today with his star studded line up which includes new resident from down under, Pred, The downright filthy Canadian KloneZ and Hard Dance legend Andrea Montorsi.

Time (GMT+1)

20.00 - Pred
21.00 - KloneZ
22.00 - Desudo
23.00 - Andrea Montorsi

Hailing from Melbourne, Pred is talented DJ & Producer that is leading the musical charge in things hard, dark & techy. With an array of quality & unique releases on such labels as Pro State Digital, Tranztek, Digitally Infected & Analogue is Dead it's no wonder that this sinister wonder kid has a big future in the hard dance scene. At the same time he produces under his other alias 'Bangerz & Masherz' on labels such as Hard Kandy Digital, Infexious & Friction and more on the way. It seems like all the talent is coming from down under these days, and new resident of Gearbox, Pred, is no exception at all.

From one side of the world to another as we hand pick the best hard dance artist to hail from Canada in KloneZ. KloneZ has been one of the surprise acts of the last year as fuses together multiple styles and genres with forward thinking production technique’s to carve his own unique sound in todays harder scene. Taking influences from Dubstep, Hard Tech, Hardstyle and Hard Trance you could say that KloneZ was one of the most original artist’s releasing under the bracket of hard dance right now. With some excellent new releases and some unbelievable new remixes coming out soon, we have caught KloneZ at a very good time for another guest mix.

Desudo has been running the Gearbox brand since he started DJ-ing two and a half years ago. In a small amount of time he has brought his brand to the masses and now runs one of the most respected hard dance shows online, not only that, but he has also brought his brand to the clubs as he has hosted nights for Fausto, Phil York, A*S*Y*S, McBunn, Geck-o and DJ Thera, supporting all of them. Recently he has also been getting gigs alongside his good friend Nicco (Change Of Scene) at parties like Cosmic Events in Northern Ireland, Colours and Compus Mentus and supporting artists such as Tiesto, Lee Haslam, Argy, Caly and Juice, Dark By Design, Sean Tyas and First State. He is now delighted to be a part of the Fear.FM team and he hopes that it will be a long and illustrious time he spends here.

We finish the night we have one of Italy’s true hard dances hero’s, Andrea Montorsi. Andrea has been on top of the hard dance game for over a decade and still remains one of the most influential and original artists in the game as he soars at the top of the hard dance game with fellow countryman, Luca Antolini. He has been producing some of the biggest tunes over the past year with tracks like ‘Now’ ‘Hospital’ and ‘Phantasy’, all of these tracks providing a golden footpath between the best aspects of hardstyle and hard trance. His new stuff with Luca Antolini is also just as rasping as every other relese he has had in the past and I can promise you after listening to the new tracks you can be guaranteed that he will remain at the top for a long time yet.

Gearbox Owns The Night
20.00 - Myler
21.00 - Diablik
22.00 - Desudo
23.00 - Beat Destroyers

Gearbox Resident Myler has been churning out some of the most interesting and original tracks in hard dance and techno of late as he takes inspiration from many different genres of music. You can tell with his very techy and abnormal sounds that he takes great influence from artists such as Amin Tobin and other break beat artists but also that he has had a passion for the harder style of music in the past also with the thumping kicks that echo through his tracks. His mix tonight will be a great demonstration of his alternative tastes in music as he cranks up through the bpms in a truely sublime mix.

Diablik is an inspirational name in the tech dance scene and has been at the forefront of this scene since he started his Upside Down series on Kiss.FM. He has helped many DJ's such as Oyaebu, Verjo and other Eastern European names make their names heard on the scene through his show. The mix we have for Gearbox is a recording from his recent gig at Kazantip, Kiss.FM stage. We now get to hear the full mix from the man himself and get to appreciate just how good a live DJ he is.

The shows host, Desudo will again offer you a selection of tracks that cover a wide spectrum of the hard dance scene at the moment, treating you to some of the best new tunes in the business right now.

The name behind the DJ's on Fire show, Beat Destroyers will close the show with an impressive mix which showcases two new tracks from the lads. We catch Beat Destoryers right at the start of their career in hard trance, and we hope to see that they will achieve great things in the future.

Gearbox Owns The Night
20.00 - Lee Mac
21.00 - Verjo
22.00 - Busho (Digitally Infected Podcast)
23.00 - Jim Justice

Lee Mac has had an unbelievable year in hard dance music and it is only set to get better after he was asked to produce for none other than Activator himself on his new label Subground. Lee has established himself as one of the best new faces in the tech dance scene as he churns out monster track after monster track on various different labels like Kiddfexious Digital, Digitally Infected, Dirty Stop Outs and Virus Audio. He is also set to make a new track under a brand new label some time in the near future.

Russian born Verjo is another new face on the tech dance scene and has been having a lot of success with his partner in crime Re-Born. Re-Born recently made a mix for Fausto's Crossover so we are delighted to invite the other half of the duo to Gearbox. Expect a hard techy set with a lot of punch and high energy bass kicks throughout. Much like the huge track that topped the tech dance charts on trackitdown - Paranoia.

The Digitally Infected Podcast kicks off it's first week on Gearbox with the owner of the label Busho. This man has been doing some unbelievable work for the underground hard dance scene and continues to bring in new faces all the time with his two separate versions of the label; digitally infected and digitally infected white. Busho is probably the hardest working man in the business that I know of as he produces tunes like he is on a Hard Dance Production line, yet, with all these productions and remixes he has yet to produce a track that I don't like. His set will showcase the latest that Digitally Infected has to offer from the softer right through to the harder styles.

Jim Justice has been one of the outstanding artists of this year after productions like Darkside and his excellent remix of BRK3 - FR33. Trackitdown have labelled him as Amsterdams up and coming super talent and there is good reason for it. His truely magnificent productions are full of energy and massive amounts of atmosphere and ring true through a massive soundsystem, something that Jim got to test out as he played at Defqon.1 2011. It's still early days in Jim's career but we can be sure that we will see more of him in the future.

WEDNESDAY THE 28TH OF SEPTEMBER

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Gearbox/135515043165685

This Wednesday Gearbox has a magnificent line with 4 exclusive mixes and first broadcast of a lot of new tracks that are sure to shatter the hard trance world upon release. Hear them here first.

Time (GMT+1)

20.00 - Thilo & Evanti
21.00 - Aman & Yarsley
22.00 - Dermot Bateman
23.00 - Loony

One of the biggest acts in hard dance to date, Thilo and Evanti have been at the top of the game for years! Recently their style has taken new form and the dark, explicit, underground sound that they produce on their label 'Anaolgue Is Dead' has become a cornerstone in the hard dance scene for that beautiful dark and menacing sound. Sit back and enjoy one of the most original and freshest sounding mixes Gearbox will ever have to offer as Thilo and Evanti blow the roof of your house

Aman & Yarsley are yet another fine example of excellent new tech dance artists breaking into the music scene hailing from eastern Europe. These Ukrainians have only joined the game recently but have already proved to be big talents as they have releases on both Dirty Stop Outs and Digitally Infected. The mix they have made for Gearbox is among one of the best we are likely to hear as it blends the new with the old with a pinch of the downright magnificent in there to help it along it's way.

Dermot Bateman has been hot property this year after fantastic releases such as Freq Show and Pulsate. He is still regarded as one of the best up and coming talents in hard dance and when you listen to his tracks you can see why. A beautiful blend of ripping samples and lethal kicks give this artist a more potent mix of attitude and drive than most other artists you are likely to hear.

Loony will yet again blow the speakers as he takes us on a journey that will include the best of the old and new but keeping that oldschool vibe alive all the way through his mix. A very talented mixer and a dynamite selection of tunes makes this artists mixes some of the most sought after on the airwaves
